2023 – 2024 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY POSITION: EMPIRE GRIT (HIGH SCHOOL) PROJECT MANAGER OVERVIEW: Project Manager to organize and support the day-to-day responsibilities of implementing the Empire After School Program (GRIT) at Hempstead High School,The Project Manager of GRIT will become part of the school community in order to collaborate with andsupport the principal, school staff, parents, partners and members of the community by initiating, facilitating, and maintaining programs and strategies.LOCATION: Hempstead High SchoolRESPONSIBILITIES:Manage GRIT, the extended day program being funded by Empire 3.Co-construct and facilitate design of after-school program, including creating and promoting the program among faculty, staff, students and families. Serve as a liaison between school leadership and external school partnerships.Ensure ongoing communication and coordination among site-based partners and the school community.Provide both instructional and administrative support for staff members facilitating after-school classes and initiatives. Coordinate the writing of periodic reports for school and district administrators as well as program funders. Help ensure that the afterschool program is a seamless extension of the learning and supports provided during the school day. Support and help to steward the implementation of the school transformation plan.Work with school staff to ensure the continued development, capacity building and sustainability of small learning communities to ensure that all students receive the supports they need.Coordinate professional development and job-embedded supports for multidisciplinary teacher teams responsible for implementing strategies, incentives and interventions regarding student attendance, behavior and course performance. Schedule and facilitate staff team meetings dedicated to: identifying students who are showing the early warning signs that they are at risk of dropping out of school; matching those students with appropriate interventions ; and monitoring students’ progress and the impact of interventions. QUALIFICATIONS:- Master’s Degree and 5-8 years of experience working in a school or youth development environment- Strong administrative skills- Highly effective written and oral communication skills.- Expertise with Microsoft Office COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience CLOSING DATE: June 2, 2023
