2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYPOSITION: MARCHING BAND DIRECTOR – GRADES 5-8 LOCATION: Hempstead High School REQUIREMENTS: Organize, recruit, and prepare the marching band during the summer months for Fall events and competitions.Attend all required training and required festival meetings. Summer Marching Band Camp – at least 40 hours during August.Prepare ensemble for multiple competitions and events such as Newsday Marching Band Festival and District Marching Band celebration.Lead and organize Marching Band Rehearsals for Secondary School Students. Rehearsal hours needs to exceed 20 hours during the school year.Lead and direct marching band for Football Games, Home Basketball Game, Homecoming Parade and Half Time, Memorial Day Parade, two additional district let events and at least one other community parades.Coordinate with Color Guard when needed.
