2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYPOSITION: MARCHING BAND DIRECTOR – GRADES 9-12 LOCATION: Hempstead High School REQUIREMENTS: Organize, recruit, and prepare the marching band during the summer months for Fall events and competitions.Attend all required training and required festival meetings. Summer Marching Band Camp – at least 40 hours during August.Prepare ensemble for multiple competitions and events such as Newsday Marching Band Festival and District Marching Band celebration.Lead and organize Marching Band Rehearsals for Secondary School Students. Rehearsal hours needs to exceed 40 hours during the school year.Lead and direct marching band for all High School Football Games, Home Basketball Games, Homecoming Parade and Half Time, Memorial Day Parade, two additional district let events and at least two other community parades.Coordinate with Color Guard when needed.STARTING DATE: August 28, 2024COMPENSATION: Service Assignment IICLOSING DATE: June 27, 2024
