2022 - 2023 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY POSITIONS: RESTORATIVE JUSTICE TEACHER LOCATION: ABGS Middle School REQUIREMENTS: NYS Social Studies 7-12 Certification DUTIES: Provide supervision for students assigned to the In School Suspension (ISS) classroomAssist in behavior management and improvement of student behaviorCreate opportunities for students to increase community engagement in ways that honor foundational restorative values.Create proactive and reactive pathways to assist students through challenging experiences in the school and classroom.Implement restorative strategies to engage students about their behaviors in one-to-one private conversations, offering the opportunity to practice restorative conversations.Monitor student behavior; reinforce appropriate behavior and ensure students stay on taskMonitor all ISS assignments, tests and computer work and provide feedback as appropriateMaintain records of student activities and behavior while in the ISS classroom; forward this information to teachers and school administratorsPerform other duties as assigned by the building Principal.
