2022- 2023 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYPOSITION: CONTRACTUAL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS QUALIFICATIONS: Continued possession of a current, valid license as an Occupational Therapist, issued by the New York State Department of EducationREPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Special Education RESPONSIBILITIES: In accordance with each student’s IEP mandate, Occupational Therapists must be able to perform evaluation and related treatments to address student needs and progress, including planning, developing and conducting occupational therapy programs and activities for students on an individual basis or in group sessions; performing related duties as required. - Develop and select constructive activities, situations and adaptive services suited to student’s specific physical and/or emotional needs and physician’s recommendations.- Make adjustments in the program, in accordance with student’s progress.- Maintain an accurate record of each student’s work and progress.- Maintain considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of occupational therapy.- Maintain considerable knowledge of applicable health and safety precautionary measures.- Demonstrate ability to plan specific treatment programs in accordance with indicated needs of student and physician’s recommendations.- Demonstrate ability to create and sustain student interest in an activity.- Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise assigned personnel if applicable.- Demonstrate ability to maintain accurate records and prepare written reports of services rendered.- Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and students and their families. COMPENSATION: $34 (Per individual sessions) / $17 (Per student in group sessions)CLOSING DATE: November 4, 2022
