The Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, oversee continuous improvement efforts, and manage all aspects of teaching and learning within the district. This role is dedicated to ensuring that curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology practices effectively promote high-quality student learning outcomes. The position also emphasizes fostering innovation, supporting instructional excellence, and ensuring that every student graduates prepared for college and career success.Responsibilities:Instructional Leadership:Provide vision and leadership for P-12 curriculum and instruction across all content areas.Supervise and support District instructional leaders, coordinators, and committees to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional coherence.Lead curriculum design, revision, and implementation cycles in alignment with state standards and District goals.Lead and actively participate in all District instructional committees, including parent committees.Oversee and refine the use of high-quality instructional materials, digital resources, and innovative pedagogies.Support the integration of technology into the instructional program.Implement and monitor the District’s instructional goals to improve instructional outcomes measured by District Strategic Plan, State and National Standards.Supervises textbook selection, field trips and environmental education program planning, approval and assessment. Data-Driven Decision Making:Develop and lead systems for monitoring curriculum effectiveness through performance data, assessments, and student achievement metrics.Analyze District and school-level data to inform instructional decision-making and resource allocation.Support school leaders and teachers in using data to differentiate instruction and close achievement gaps.Professional Development & Instructional Growth:Design and oversee a systemic professional development program focused on research-based practices and innovation.Facilitate leadership development and capacity-building for teachers, principals, and instructional teams.Coordinate and implement the District’s Professional Development Plan and support compliance with NYSED mandates.Technology:Supervise the Instructional Technology Staff.Supervise the integration of technology into the instructional program.Responsible for the deployment of infrastructure and user devices, developing and updating long-range plans for maintenance, replacement, and expansion of system capabilities as required to support changing program requirements.Responsible for compliance with School District policies related to internet safety, protection of students, and safeguarding District systems, and servers from harm.Supervise the development and maintenance of student systems and databases as necessary for record keeping, reporting, regulatory compliance, and support of instructional programs Organize and supervise the distribution of all electronic equipment within the District, as well as maintaining and updating the technology inventory.Supervise the tracking devices assigned to students and staff when devices may be used and stored outside of the schools.Build partnerships and programs that prepare students for post-secondary success, including STEM, career pathways, and early college opportunities.Promote instructional technology integration to enhance teaching and personalize student learning.Assist in the development of HFFMCSD’s Portrait of a Graduate.Collaborative Leadership & Community Engagement:Lead and participate in District-wide instructional committees; engage stakeholders in the curriculum and innovation process.Collaborate with all departments, school leaders, and external partners to support cohesive instructional strategies.Serve as a key presenter at Board of Education meetings and public forums, communicating the impact and outcomes of instructional initiatives.Serve as the District liaison to professional networks, consortia, and NYSED.Experience preparing and submitting New York State federal consolidated grant applications.Professional Responsibilities:Provides leadership for the District-Wide Information Technology (IT) Department.Serve on District hiring committees.Serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, District Leadership Team, and represent the District as required.Collaborate with the Superintendent and Leadership Team to align initiatives with the District’s strategic goals.Assist with the development, revision, and execution of District Policies and procedures related to curriculum, instruction, and innovation.Provide accurate, timely reports to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and regulatory agencies as required.Coordinates the development of the SED Professional Development and Instructional Technology Plans\ Serves as the District’s Data Protection Officer.Represent the District at Board meetings, state-level initiatives, and professional associations Perform all duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Position Qualifications:Required:New York State Certification as School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL).Demonstrated success in leading curriculum, instruction, and professional development initiatives across a P-12 system.Strong background in analyzing and utilizing data to inform systemic instructional improvement.NYSED fingerprint clearance is required.Preferred:Three or more years of demonstrated success as a school building and/or central office administrator.Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards, instructional assessments, and accountability systems.Background in designing innovative programs and enhancing student learning experiences.Implementation of computer-based technologies as they relate to education.Please submit a cover letter and resume for consideration.
