The Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District is accepting applications for Summer Custodial positions for the 2023-2024 school year.This is routine and repetitive manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure, and maintenance tasks are performed under direct supervision or according to specific instructions. Direct supervision is received from a Custodial Lead or the Director of Facilities. Does related work as required.The successful candidate for this position is willing and able to perform the following job responsibilities and duties:- Cleans rest rooms, replenishes usable items;- Sweeps and mops floors and stairs, vacuums rugs, may wax and buff floors;- Dusts and cleans desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment;- Washes windows, walls, whiteboards, sinks and other fixtures;- Polishes furniture and metal furnishings;- Empties waste baskets: collects and disposes of rubbish;- May unload and store supplies and materials from vehicles;- Arranges chairs, tables and other equipment for special use of building or large floor areas;- May paint rooms and equipment;- May tour building/area for security, check doors and windows.Characteristics and Skill Set Requirements:- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions;- Willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks;- Ability to get along well with others;- Thoroughness and an eye for detail;- Dependability;- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position- NYSED Fingerprint clearance is required.Please submit a letter of interest and resume via OLAS for consideration.
