Hicksville Union Free School District seeks a Business Administrator, who will work under the Assistant Superintendent for Business to support all fiscal and operational functions of the district, including budget development, financial oversight, internal controls, procurement, and compliance. The successful candidate will to assist in preparing and managing the annual budget; perform financial forecasting, cost analyses, and multiyear planning; support accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, purchasing, and cash flow; assist with grants, ST-3, state/federal reporting, and required filings; support internal/external audits and corrective action planning; assist with bidding, contracts, and procurement compliance; support negotiations through financial analyses; and assist with capital project financials, reserves, insurance claims, and risk management. The role also provides financial guidance to district administrators and serves as liaison to schools, departments, vendors, and auditors. Required: NYS School District Business Leader (SDBL) certification or eligibility for SDBL/SBA; bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or related field; experience in school district or public-sector finance; knowledge of NYSED requirements, public procurement law, and governmental accounting; strong analytical and communication skills. Preferred: Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or School Business Administration; School district accounting experience in a NYS school district business office (LI preferred); familiarity with nVision; experience with capital projects and reserve planning.
