Hicksville Public Schools is accepting applications for the following ANTICPATED vacancy:Special Education Teacher, Elementary, ICT - ProbationaryPosition DetailsThe successful candidate must be driven, flexible, and adaptable, as teaching responsibilities include leading instruction for our students in an integrated co-teaching class setting. Additionally, the successful candidate should have the following:Knowledge and experience practicing differentiated instruction at all levels of academic abilityAbility to provide a learning environment that supports the social-emotional well-being of all students and challenges them to work to the best of their ability.Strong knowledge of instructional technologyAbility to effectively communicate and build relationships with students, families, and faculty.Works collaboratively with related service providers, SLP, OT, PT, and PsychologistKnowledge of behavior strategiesExperience with developing IEPs, and participation in CSEs.Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to deliver high-quality effective lessons in an integrated setting.Experience with Fountas and Pinnell, Wilson and Orton Gillingham preferred.Valid NYS Certification in Special Education, All Grades required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
