Helping Hands School is seeking a part time Physical Therapist (2 days per week) to provide services to preschool students with disabilities. We are a dynamic special education preschool program located in Clifton Park, New York that is committed to excellence in the education and treatment of young children with special needs. We are looking for a PT who will work collaboratively with a transdisciplinary school team and will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages student learning. Responsibilities• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate therapeutic activities designed to achieve goals and objectives in compliance with IEP mandates• Modify therapeutic techniques and provide supports to address the individual needs of each student• Demonstrate compliance with each student’s IEP mandates with relation to instructional materials, learning environment and instructional approach• Utilize positive behavioral supports effectively to meet each student’s needs.• Consistently and accurately collect data and record it contemporaneously.• Regularly summarize data for progress reports as per student IEP requirements• Complete comprehensive assessments of students’ gross motor development• Formulate appropriate annual goals and benchmarked objectives to address each student’s individual needs• Develop partnerships with parents by providing information about their child’s school experiences and respond to parent concerns in a supportive and unbiased manner Job Details:• Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.• School calendar plus a six-week summer program Job Requirements:Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy program with a Bachelor of Science, Master’s degree or Clinical Doctorate of physical therapy degree.Current NYS Physical Therapy license and registrationBenefits:Health, Dental, Vision InsuranceRetirement Plan403BAFLACProfessional Development stipendPositive and supportive work environmentStart date flexibleApply through OLAS or send a letter of interest and resume to dburke@helpinghands.org
