Elementary Special Education Teacher We anticipate openings for Special Education Teachers for 8:1:4 classes, Self-Contained classes and Integrated Co-Teaching programs at Signal Hill Elementary School, Paumanok Elementary School and Vanderbilt Elementary School. Successful candidates must have a strong special education background and be knowledgeable across all academic areas. Responsibilities include preparing effective lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, providing instruction to support student learning within the classroom, executing IEPs and collaborating with general education teachers/related service providers to foster the success of all students. Successful candidates are required to record data, conduct re-evaluation testing, create meaningful IEPs and participate in meetings of the Committee on Special Education. Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills are necessary. Knowledge of ABA and experience with discrete trial teaching preferred. Exact assignments are yet to be determined. Starting Salary: Step 1 - BA: $62,997. MA: $72,336
