Certified Athletic TrainerWe are actively seeking a qualified and certified ATC starting July 1, 2024. Below is the annual job description: The position starts five days prior to the first scheduled day of fall practice for high school football and ends five days after all spring sports teams have completed their regular and post-season schedules. The weekday hours commence in the afternoon, at a time dependent on the athletic schedule, and last seven hours. The athletic trainers are also required to work four hours on Saturdays when a home athletic contest is scheduled. The duties include, but are not limited to the following:Providing basic instruction to athletic staff members in the prevention and care of athletic injuries and conditions.Training and supervising student athletes for athletic contests and practices. Referring student athletic injuries and conditions to physicians for appropriate diagnosis and/or treatment.Implementing appropriate instructions and treatment as directed by District and/or family physicians.Developing and supervising appropriate rehabilitation programs for student athletes under the direction of a physician.Assisting and advising the District’s coaching staff regarding injury prevention, conditioning programs, and the selection, care, and fitting of protective equipment.Inspecting and suppling all team medical kits prior to the beginning of each sports season.Treating and supervising treatment of all minor athletic injuries and conditions.Overseeing the organization, inventory, and requisition of all training room(s) supplies as approved and directed by the District’s Athletic Director.Maintaining accurate records of all injuries sustained by student athletes during school athletic events and all rehabilitation procedures.Developing and distributing emergency phone numbers.Coordinating between injured student athletes, coaching staff, and District and/or family physicians.Reporting directly to the Athletic Director or his or her designee.Implementing Concussion Management protocol for student athletes at the direction of the Athletic Director and pursuant to Board of Education policy.The starting salary is $56,942Interested candidates must apply through OLAS AND complete the application on the HHH District website at: https://www.hhh.k12.ny.us/ > District > Career Opportunities.
