The HFM BOCES School Library System has an opening for a System School Library Media Specialist. This is a 10-month position with up to 10 days in the summer, if needed, with supervisor approval.Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Provide library services and assistance to component schools and internal programs.- Provide training in the use of existing or emerging technologies.- Provide reference and consultation services for system libraries.- Assist the professional development, committee activities, and advocacy efforts.- Work both independently and collaboratively with classroom teachers and school library media specialists.- Co-teaching collaboration with school librarians- Other responsibilities as assigned.The successful candidate is a service-oriented, intellectually curious teacher-librarian to help advance the information and media literacy and diversity, equity and inclusion goals of our SLS community. This candidate is future-oriented, motivated, well organized, creative and enthusiastic. All applicants must hold, be eligible for, or be working toward a NYS Certification as a School Library Media Specialist. Experience in a school system with instructional technologies and library automation is preferred. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on the ability to obtain a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check through the TEACH system prior to working.
