HFM BOCES Special Education Division is seeking a Transition Specialist to provide direct student services as well as technical assistance to school districts regarding transition programming needs and effective strategies to reach their goals.Must be NYS certified and eligible for Teacher on Special Assignment appointment. 5 yr. or more experience in a high school setting and Special Education and/or School Counselor certification preferred. Ideal candidates have experience working with SWD 13yr. - 21yr. and writing transition IEP goals, extensive knowledge of CDOS, as well as high school guidance counselor experience.Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint supported criminal history background check through the TEACH system prior to working.
