HFM BOCES Special Education Division has two (2) openings and is accepting applications for a, 10-month, tenure track: Transition Specialist to provide direct student services as well as technical assistance to school districts regarding transition programming needs and effective strategies to reach their goals. This position has a start date of September 1, 2022. Job Qualifications Must be NYS certified and eligible for a Teacher on Special Assignment appointment.5 yr. or more experience in a high school setting and Special Education and/or School Counselor certification preferred.Ideal candidates have experience working with SWD 13yr. - 21yr. and writing transition IEP goals, extensive knowledge of CDOS, as well as high school guidance counselor experience.Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint supported criminal history background check through the TEACH system prior to working.
