Location: School Business OfficeRate of Pay: Salary range - $130,000 - $145,000 (based on experience)Anticipated Start Date: January 10, 2023Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications: If School Business Administrator title is used a valid NYS SBA or SDBL certification is required. There will be a 4 year probationary period for this position. If a Civil Service title is utilized, this will be a provisional appointment. The candidate will be required to take the exam, pass and be reachable (among the top three candidates) on the certified list of eligibles.Anyone interested in this position should apply no later than November 17, 2022.Leadership and performance expectations, responsibilities and characteristics, expected of candidate, are as follow:Thorough knowledge of laws, requirements, and reporting systems related to the business aspects of aNYS school district.Experience with school budget development and allocation of financial resources.Assisting Schools and department leadership in budget development, monitoring and management,including maintenance of financial records and controls.Monitoring ongoing revenue and expendituresStrengthening HCSD’s centralized accounting, financial transactions, maintenance of official accounting records, filing of state reimbursement claims, monitoring of grants and special revenue funds.Responding to correspondence and inquiries related to HCSD finances.Conducting presentations on public school finance to various organizations as needed.Ensuring HCSD compliance with timely submission of accurate reports to New York State Department of Education.Assisting the Superintendent in long-range budget development and directing the process of school funds to ensure that the district derives maximum benefits for the prudent expenditure of school dollars.Managing all bond and capital projects.Responsible for the completion of monthly and annual financial reports and other statistical reports.Manages the Business Office – accounting, purchasing, payroll, food service and transportation. Establishes procedures resulting in the effective operation of the Business Office.Managing the district’s construction, insurance and energy programs.Creating and supporting a district office environment dedicated to continuous improvement.Capacity to develop multi-year financial forecasting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Qualifications, required of candidate, are as follow:Valid NYS School Business Administrator (SBA) certification ORValid School District Business Leader (SDBL) certification ORHave either permanently held the title of School Business Executive I or meet minimum qualifications to take the examination for this title.Have either permanently held the title of School Business Manager II or meet minimum qualifications to take the examination for this title.This position reports to the Hudson City School District Board of Education.The Hudson City School District offers employment and educational opportunities, including vocational education opportunities without regard to sex, race, color, national origin, or handicap.We welcome applications from those who contribute to our diversity.
