The Harrison Central School District is seeking candidates who hold NYS certification in special education for a leave replacement position in a well-supported, self-contained special education high school classroom (8:1:2) for students who participate in NYSAA. The preferred candidate will have experience using ABA methods, working with students on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities to provide functional life skills instruction. The preferred candidate should be highly collaborative, skilled in providing individualized instruction, knowledgeable about positive behavioral supports, and familiar with/have knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and how to utilize them to support students' overall communication development.
