We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for our Industrial Arts Wood Shop program. You will assist in creating a positive learning environment, supporting instructional goals, and upholding professional standards and school policies.Key Responsibilities:Assist in planning and implementing instructional activities in wood shopPrepare materials, tools, and equipment for lessons and projectsSupervise and guide students during hands-on activities and projectsEnsure the safe use and maintenance of tools and equipmentCollaborate with staff to support student learning and IEP goalsHelp maintain a safe and respectful classroom environmentUse technology and electronic equipment to support instructionAssist with grading, record-keeping, and maintaining student progress reportsParticipate in professional development and attend required meetingsServe as a positive role model for students and staffMaintain confidentiality and adhere to school policiesQualifications:Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification requiredExperience with students with disabilities preferredStrong interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated integrity and ethical behaviorSalary:$22,956 - $29,588 for a 10-month period, based on education and experienceAdditional compensation opportunities are available through a separate 6-week summer school program contract
