DATE: March 11, 2025POSTING ENDS: March 17, 2025 Position: Bus DispatcherLocation: TransportationHours: M-F, 6:30 am-3:30 pm, 12 monthsEffective: ImmediatelySalary: In accordance with existing salary scheduleResponsibilities:Manages daily assignments for bus drivers and attendants and maintains attendanceCoordinates vehicles, drivers, and attendants to properly follow busing schedulesPlans, schedules, and assigns drivers for special requests, e.g. field tripsMaintains and updates daily dispatch sheetsHandles inquiries from parents, students, and staffOversees 19A Examiner and School Bus Driver Instructor (SBDI) duties relating to staff records, departmental files, medical requirements and training classesOperates a school bus or serves as a bus attendant, as needed Minimum Experience: Graduation from high school and one year of satisfactory bus driving and/or motor vehicle dispatching.Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must meet all requirements of Article 19-A of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law and the School Bus Driver set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the NYS Commissioner of Education.Note: Section 156.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education states, in part, that all drivers of school transportation conveyances shall be at least 21 years of age.
