Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Out of District Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for a psychologist, social worker, or special education teacher with a strong background in special education, particularly in supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities. The Out of District Coordinator will be responsible for case management of out-of-district students, assisting with transition, and serving as a Committee on Special Education (CSE) Chairperson. Key Responsibilities:Case Management: Oversee and coordinate educational programs and services for students placed in out-of-district settings. Ensure compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and state/federal regulations.Transition Support: Assist in planning and implementing transition services for students moving between educational settings, including coordination with families, schools, and community agencies.CSE Chairperson Duties: Facilitate CSE sub-committee meetings, ensure adherence to special education laws and policies, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop appropriate IEPs.Collaboration & Communication: Build strong relationships with families, schools, service providers, and district staff to ensure students receive high-quality support.Data Management & Compliance: Maintain accurate student records, monitor progress, and ensure all documentation meets legal and district requirements.Qualifications:Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a special education setting, preferably with students with autism and developmental disabilities.Valid certification as a school psychologist, social worker, or special education teacher (as required by state regulations).Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and transition planning.Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including parents, educators, and service providers.Preferred Qualifications:Experience chairing CSE meetings.Knowledge of out-of-district placement processes and best practices.Familiarity with community resources and transition programs for students with disabilities.
