The GNPS Recreation Department is seeking candidates for the 2023 Summer Camp Programs.6-week program: July 3rd – August 11th. (Off July 4th) Must be available to work the full 6 weeks.Director:The Director is responsible for the conduct of the program at the site including planning, scheduling, supervising and evaluating staff. Each camp day, Directors are expected to open and close the camp site. Also communicate periodically with the Supervisor of the Summer Recreation program during the school year to evaluate the past summer’s program and to plan for the new season.Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours-9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $5,400.00Aquatic Director:The Aquatics Director must oversee the pool area and all swimming activities that occur at the swimming pool. Supervise lifeguards and other required staff during swimming activities, implement the camp safety plan and the daily camper buddy board procedures. Must have current Nassau County Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard Management certifications. WSI certification preferred. Pool hours-9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $5,400.00Assistant Director:The Assistant Director works with the site Director on daily program operations. The Assistant Director becomes the primary administrator of the program when the Director is absent.Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours-9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.6-Week Salary: $5,040.00Instructional Specialists: Chess, Dance, Music. Instruct/teach up to five classes of approximately 40 minutes per day to children in grades K-5.Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours-9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $4,860Physical Activity Specialist:Responsibilities include physical activity set up and implement daily activities and camp events. In addition, assist counselors with camper games, activities, and to observe their work with campers.Elementary Summer Recreation Camp, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sports Camp Recreation Program, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $4, 860Lifeguard: Responsibilities include assisting aquatic director, supervising children in pool area and in pool. Must have current Nassau County Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications.Pool hours-9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $20.00 hr. Professional staff may send a child to camp free and a second child at half the standard rate.
