Position Overview: Greenburgh Central School District, a K through 12 International Baccalaureate school district is seeking two assistant principals to fill vacancies at Woodlands Middle High School (7-12) and Richard J. Bailey Elementary School (4-6), starting July 1, 2025. Qualifications: Appropriate building-level NYS administrator certification required Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal, and facilitation skills Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data informed decision-making Experience in analyzing student data to design and lead professional learning; instructional coaching Understanding of relationship management and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members with ease Conflict resolution and ability to facilitate the resolution of conflict confidentially, professionally, and in a timely manner Essential Performance ResponsibilitiesInstructional Leadership Lead the implementation of the instructional program as determined by the principal Foster a culture of professional growth and innovation, encouraging staff to implement evidence-based teaching strategies and best practices Work with teachers (including coaches) and principal to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify evidence-based instructional/classroom strategies Provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum to increase student success Implement and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom Develop a culture of professional growth and innovation, encouraging staff to implement evidence-based teaching strategies and best practices Utilize the APPR (Annual Professional Performance Review) process to evaluate staff performance, identify professional development needs, and support the retention of effective teachers while addressing performance issues for those who need improvement Uses Restorative Practices to strengthen relationships between teachers, students, and parents Uses data associated with Social and Emotional Learning outcomes to strengthen the total school program Serve as the principal in the absence of the principal Master Scheduling Under the supervision and direction of the principal serve as a leader on the master scheduling team. Each building leader is responsible for the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of all student schedules across grade levels to: Develop and propose class schedules, extracurricular activity schedules, and staffing assignments based on student needs, course availability, and staff qualifications Analyze student enrollment data, course requests, and student achievement data to inform and guide scheduling decisions that maximize educational opportunities and ensure equity. Ensure course offerings and teacher assignments align with the school’s instructional goals, the strengths of the faculty, and district priorities Manage and maintain the school’s master schedule, ensuring it reflects academic requirements, student interests, and efficient use of resources Coordinate and facilitate the course catalog revision process, including managing course recommendations, course additions, terminations, and updates based on student and staffing needs Monitor and resolve scheduling conflicts promptly, ensuring that all students have schedules that meet their academic and personal goals Oversee the preparation and updating of student schedules in the student management system (e.g., eSchoolPLUS), ensuring data accuracy and compliance with district requirements Ensure a balanced distribution of students across classes to promote equitable learning opportunities and meet diverse learning needs Maintain comprehensive records of student enrollment, attendance, and course completion data Assessments Serve as the Testing Coordinator for designated grade levels to ensure preparation and administration of all district and state-mandated assessments Serves as the principal designee to complete the ordering, organization, and administration of assessments, ensuring compliance with all state and district testing protocols Coordinate with the technology department to ensure proper preparation and administration of online assessments and troubleshooting during testing periods Lead efforts in tracking student progress over time through formative and summative assessments, using data to drive decision-making for both individual student support and broader instructional strategies Oversee and supervise student attendance reporting, ensuring compliance with district policies on attendance and conduct Analyze and utilize data from Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) outcomes to enhance the school’s programs
