Position The Greenburgh Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Instructional Math Coach (Pre-K – 12) . The Instructional Math Coach (Pre-K – 12) will provide leadership and instructional support to strengthen mathematics teaching and learning across the district. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators to implement high-quality, standards-based mathematics instruction, develop curriculum, analyze student achievement data, and support evidence-based instructional practices that improve student outcomes. The Instructional Math Coach will facilitate professional learning, support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), promote equitable and differentiated instruction, integrate innovative instructional strategies and digital tools, and foster a culture of continuous improvement that empowers educators and ensures all students develop strong mathematical understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Duties The responsibilities below outline the primary duties of the position. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and additional related duties may be assigned as needed: Collaboration and Support Work closely with Pre-K–12 teachers, support staff, and administrators to develop and implement effective numeracy strategies, assessment tools, and instructional plans. Provide ongoing support through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and serve on the districtwide PLC Core Team. Collaborate with Lead Teachers and support districtwide efforts, including initiatives such as iReady, ALP, and the Hochman Writing Method. Curriculum Development and Implementation Assist teachers in developing and refining math curriculum maps aligned with NY State Standards and district platforms. Support the implementation of district-wide math initiatives and new standards. Help teachers incorporate a balanced approach to mathematical learning, integrating speaking and writing into the content area. Professional Development and Training Provide professional development for teachers related to new instructional initiatives, including differentiated instructional strategies. Facilitate math-focused PLC meetings with PK–12 mathematics faculty using the PLC framework. Coordinate and deliver professional development for digital instructional tools and materials in mathematics. Data Analysis and Instructional Support Disaggregate and analyze student data to target instruction, enhance student learning, and inform teaching practices. Assist teachers in using ongoing, instructionally-based assessments to differentiate instruction. Intervention and Differentiation Identify and implement research-based Tier II and Tier III interventions for students struggling with mathematics. Support teachers in addressing the diverse needs of learners across the district. Parent and Community Engagement Coordinate parent workshops related to math instruction and support. Assessment and Grants Assist with the coordination and administration of district-wide and state assessments. Research, develop, and assist with implementing grants related to math instruction. Specialized Knowledge and Support Provide guidance on the infusion of IB principles into core math instruction. Support the integration of innovative practices and standards within mathematics education. Qualifications: Master’s degree; Mathematics 7-12 certification Minimum 5 years recent experience as a mathematics teacher Evidence of leadership experience and mentoring/coaching teachers Strong commitment and training in Professional Learning Communities Successful track record in student achievement on State math tests or similar assessments APPOINTMENT: Appointment to this position shall be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, following a comprehensive review of the candidate’s training, experience, certifications, credentials, and demonstrated qualifications.
