Instructional Coach for Mathematics PK - 12CERTIFICATION: NYS Teacher Certification requiredPOSITION DESCRIPTION: See attachedREPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and PersonnelSTART DATE: Immediate start date following Board of Education appointmentSALARY: Terms of employment in accordance with the Greenburgh Teachers Federation (GTF) ContractTeacher line plus ten additional days during the summerSalary is commensurate with educational background and years of experienceOverall Job Description:To provide instructional support to Pre-K through grade 12 teachers so that appropriate research-based programs and strategies are implemented with fidelity in order to strengthen student outcomes while providing professional development support.Responsibilities:Works closely with Pre K-12 teachers, support staff and administrators to develop and use appropriate numeracy strategies, implementation plans and assessment tools to inform instructionWorks with teachers to develop math curriculum maps using Rubicon Atlas and NY State StandardsAssists with district wide math initiatives including and new standards implementationProvides ongoing support through the PLC’sIdentifies research-based Tier II and Tier III intervention for mathematicsProvides professional development associated with implementation of instructional initiativesAssists teachers in utilizing a variety of on-going, instructionally based assessment approaches to inform and differentiate instructionAssists teachers in recognizing and responding to the multiple needs of the diverse learners in our districtAssists with implementing a balanced approach for mathematical learning that incorporates speaking and writing in the content areaDisaggregates and analyzes data to target instruction, enhance student learning, and inform teacher practicePlans and facilitates Math PLC meetings with the PK-12 mathematics faculty using the PLC structure Coordinates parent workshops in the content areaCollaborates with 7-12 Lead Teachers at WMHS Supports District-wide efforts in iReady, ALP, Hochman Writing MethodAssists with the coordination and administration of all district and statewide assessmentsResearches, develops, and assists with the implementation of grants associated with the content areaUnderstanding of IB and how to infuse principals into core instructionProvides or coordinates professional development for digital instructional materials associated with the content areaQualifications:Master’s degree Minimum 5 years recent experience as a mathematics teacherEvidence of leadership experience and mentoring/coaching teachersStrong commitment and training in Professional Learning CommunitiesSuccessful track record in student achievement on State math tests or similar assessmentsReports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, Programs and Personnel
