EXAMPLES OF WORK: Provides direct medical/nursing care to assigned student(s) including multiply handicapped student(s); Implements nursing regimen for assigned student(s) including administration of medication in accordance with written orders of physicians; Observes, measures, monitors and reports indications of patient health status including vital signs and notes and reports unusual symptoms or changes; Assists with ambulation, personal hygiene; Assists with the maintenance of health records i.e. files and charts; Responds to daily physical, emotional and material needs of assigned student(s); Maintains safe and comfortable environment for assigned student(s); Carries out special technical procedures in accordance with written orders using established procedures; Provides supervisor with periodic updates of student's overall adjustment to school environment; Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments; May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the State of New York, to practice as a Practical Nurse.
