Our smaller class size offers students thesupport needed to meet success. Our teachers plan and provide appropriate learning experiencesto meet the various learning styles of our students.The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environmentthat provides specialized instruction for students, such that the students access the curriculum tothe greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and otherneeded supports.Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following: Provide direct instructional support to students in a positive environment. Employ specially designed instruction to improve the development of sensory-andperceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory. Teach socially acceptable behavior, as determined by the students'; individualizededucation programs (IEPs) by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioralsupport system. Modify the curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructionaltechniques and technologies. Establish rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive tolearning for all students. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate thoseobjectives to students.
