The Greenburgh-North Castle Union Free School District is seeking a dual-certified Special Education/Biology teacher to fill an anticipated vacancy at Greenburgh Academy in Yonkers, NY. The successful candidate will provide instruction to high school students on both Regents and alternate assessment tracks, many of whom have significant academic and behavioral needs.We are looking for a dedicated educator who demonstrates:A strong understanding of contemporary instructional strategies and their effective application in the classroomThe ability to manage and support student behavior using positive, constructive approachesExperience integrating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into academic instructionProven success delivering differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needsDemonstrated experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and fostering a structured, supportive classroom environmentA track record of effectively teaching students with behavioral challengesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, students, and familiesA commitment to working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support each student’s academic and social successDisabilities Served: Emotional Disabilities (ED), Other Health Impairment (OHI), Learning Disabilities (LD)Class Ratios: 8:1:1 for core academics, 12:1:1 for electives.Certification Requirements: Students with Disabilities 7-12 (Required), Biology 7-12 (Required).Compensation: Commensurate with experience, as per contract.Benefits: Our comprehensive package includes dental, vision, and health insurance; membership in the NYS Teacher Retirement System (NYSTRS); union membership (Greenburgh-North Castle United Teachers Unit); an employee assistance program; and a flexible spending account.Greenburgh-North Castle UFSD is a leading New York State Special Act public school district serving approximately 500 students aged 9-21 across four schools in two counties.
