Greenburgh-North Castle UFSD is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Laborer to support the upkeep and operations of our school facilities. This role involves traveling between four school locations (Dobbs Ferry, Yonkers, West Harrison, and Wappingers Falls using District-provided vehicles), assisting with both interior and exterior maintenance tasks, and serving as the first point of contact between contractors/vendors and the District.The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, physical stamina, and general technical knowledge of routine repairs and grounds maintenance. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role includes frequent interaction with vendors, school staff, and building administrators.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., doors, windows, locks, walls, bathrooms).Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal, and blacktop patching.Oversee custodial tasks such as disinfecting, floor care, and supply restocking.Support transportation needs by checking vehicles, tracking keys, and fueling as needed.Act as liaison with contractors/vendors for facility services and repairs.Drive between multiple school sites and complete supply runs (District vehicle provided).Assist with inspections, scheduling contracted work, and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to follow instructions, perform manual labor, and work well with others.Basic repair and maintenance skills; familiarity with hand tools and grounds equipment.Effective communication in English; strong interpersonal skills.Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.Valid NYS driver’s license; must meet DMV clearance requirements.Fingerprint clearance and background check required per NYSED regulations.Benefits:Health (NYSHIP), Dental (MetLife), and Vision (Davis Vision)
