VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPERVISORPROVISIONAL* 12-MONTH Salary: Competitive, Commensurate with ExperienceGlen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community.Job Description: Entry-level supervisor position, leading an information technology program and team.Qualifications:*Must take and pass the relevant Glen Cove Civil Service examination when first offered and quality for placement on the “List of Eligibles”(A) A Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours management information systems,computer science, information technology or closely related field and one (1) year of experience in network administration, information systems management or computer programming; or (B) An Associate’s Degree including or supplemented by fifteen (15) credit hours in coursework defined in (A) and three (3) years of experience as defined in (A); or (C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience asdefined in (A); or (D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C).Fingerprinting clearance requiredEssential Duties (include, but are not limited to):Administers and oversees a LAN and WAN for State and local information systems; leads and supervises the installation of LAN and WAN equipment and systems, including configuring workstations and installing switches, routers, modems, and wiring, and loading server and personal computer software.Coordinates Internet connections and email systems; administers the telephone system, including troubleshooting malfunctions, running telephone cable, programming the system, setting up voicemail, and training users.Maintains a LAN and WAN, including planning, implementing, supporting, monitoring, and securing network components, including all implemented systems and programs related to the agency.Writes programs using database software to create monthly statistical and data reports.Coordinates network management systems, including adding and deleting users, performing terminal security, receiving administrative and systems messages, and working with personnel on troubleshooting terminal malfunctions and printing problems.Supervises and trains other technology staff; attends training and continuing education involving improving and emerging technologies.Establishes guidelines to determine feasibility, priorities, logic, and economics for the optimum use of information technology programs.Develops and establishes budgeting, accounting, cost and utilization schedules, procedures, records, and reports for information technology systems and programs.Any other duties that may be assigned by the Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology.
