ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS & OPERATIONS Salary and Benefits Commensurate with ExperienceGlen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community.Job Description: Assist the Superintendent of Schools in the planning and management of business and operations for the school system.Qualifications:Master’s Degree, NYS SDA/SBA Certification or NYS SDBL CertificationMinimum of five (5) years administrative experience and/or experience as a successful leader in the areas ofpublic-school finance, budget development, and management and business office operationsExtensive knowledge of New York State public school initiatives, federal and state education regulations and guidelines, and capital project managementFingerprinting clearance requiredEssential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):The Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations is responsible for developing and promoting practices which are both fiscally and educationally sound, and which will provide optimum educational opportunities for students in the Glen Cove City School District. Such responsibilities include, but are not limited to administration of payroll, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, investments, short-term and long-term borrowing, risk management, insurance, purchasing, taxes, debt services, and other fiscal matters. In addition, the position is also responsible for the following:Preparation of the annual operating budget of approximately $113,416,040Serves as the District’s Chief Residency Officer and the District’s Purchasing AgentOversees facilities, transportation, food services, infrastructure, security, and school safety with direct supervision to the District Treasurer; Payroll Supervisor; Director of Facilities; Director of Food Services; and security, transportation, and central registration supervisorsWorks closely with the Board of Education’s Claims Auditor, Internal Auditor, and External Auditor in safeguarding the District’s assets, and strengthening the internal controls of the District’s operationsSupervises the District’s property and casualty insurance programsServes as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and District committees as requiredPerforms other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsEffective: o/a October 1, 2024Application Instructions: Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Andrew DiNapoli, before the deadline.
