Seeking a driven leader to become Assistant Principal in Glens Falls City School District, effective September 1, 2023.Qualifications:Master’s Degree from a recognized institutionA valid New York State Certification as a School Building LeaderAt least five (5) years of experience in teaching or administrationDemonstrated success in accomplishing the tasks listed below Job Goal:Assist the Principal with those Building level tasks and responsibilities assignedAssist the Superintendent of Schools with those District level tasks and responsibilities assignedPerformance Responsibilities to Include, but Not Limited To:Handle the daily operations and supervision of the student body as related to the Code of ConductMonitor student referral data to identify at-risk studentsAnalyze attendance and tardiness data among the student body to develop plans to reduce and eliminate patternsHelp solve school related problems by working with students, parents, school counselors, teachers, social workers, probation officers, social-emotional and mental health providers, and the local policeBuild effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and be available to students and parents for education and management related purposesCoordinate schedules and plans, and conduct special services and activitiesSupervise extracurricular activitiesOrganize, schedule and evaluate required emergency drillsReview and update the building emergency planOversee the operations of the in-school planning process and after school detention program Assist in the development of the master schedule and student transition between buildingsDevelop schedules and plans for all examination schedules and compile reports upon completionAssist the Principal in evaluation and supervision of teaching and non-teaching staffAssist the principal in the interviewing process for all school personnelAssist substitute teacher and arrange for teacher coverage in case of substitute shortageAssist Principal in developing the yearly school budgetAssist selected departments in the implementation of yearly designed department plansWork cooperatively with custodial staff for proper maintenance of the school facilityReview and update the code of conduct and student handbookPerforms such tasks and assumes such responsibilities as the Superintendent of Schools may from time to time assign
