The responsibility of the Teacher’s Assistant to provide a structured learning experience and atmosphere in the classrooms assigned. Teacher’s Assistants will be expected to cover in the teacher’s absence and provide structured learning experience. Specific duties include: assisting with activities, supervising the children, maintaining the classroom and other areas, assisting in developing good health standards and appropriate social habits, and filling in for other staff as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Completion of 18 College Credits New York State Teacher Assistant Certification, requiredPERSONAL QUALITIES:Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and competing demands.Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful manner.Maintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate others.Candidate must enjoy working with children.
