The Position: The Garden City Union Free School District is seeking an exceptional instructional leader for the position of Hemlock Primary School Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and learning, supervision of students and staff, and will support authentic student learning experiences including problem-based learning, design thinking and inquiry. The Principal will provide effective supervision, evaluation and professional coaching to instructional and noninstructional staff. He/she will provide leadership to the school community consistent with our district mission and goals. The District: Garden City is located twenty miles east of Manhattan in the heart of Nassau County, Long Island. Close to 3,900 students attend Garden City Public Schools in grades kindergarten through 12. There are three primary schools (grades K and 1), two elementary schools (grades 2-5), one middle school (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12).
