Garden City Union Free School District is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapists to join our team of professionals committed to providing high-quality education & support services to students. This role involves working collaboratively with educators, families, and other specialists to support the academic success and functional independence of students with diverse needs.Key Responsibilities:Conduct assessments & evaluations of students’ motor, sensory, cognitive & functional abilitiesDevelop & implement individualized therapy plans as part of students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Provide direct & consultative occupational therapy services to students, educators & familiesCollaborate with teachers, administrators & support staff to support goals within the classroom environmentMaintain accurate records, documentation & reports in compliance with federal, state, and district regulationsParticipate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate educational accommodations and interventionsEducate staff & caregivers on strategies and equipment to assist with students’ needsQualifications:MA in Occupational Therapy from an accredited programCurrent New York State licensure or certification as an Occupational TherapistNBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certificationExperience working with school-aged children preferredStrong communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
