Garden City Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Behaviorist who holds Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be credentialed as a teacher, school psychologist, or licensed social worker, and possess strong experience in behavior intervention and support within educational settings. This role is central to helping students with behavioral needs succeed in inclusive and specialized educational environments.Key Responsibilities:Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop data-driven behavior intervention plans (BIPs)Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to implement and monitor behavior support strategiesProvide consultation, modeling, and training to staff on behavior management and evidence-based practicesAnalyze student behavior data, using Catalyst and adjust intervention strategies as neededParticipate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of behavior-related goalsSupport a positive school climate through district-wide behavioral initiatives and professional development (i.e., CPI)Provide direct and indirect services to students/families/staff with a range of behavioral and emotional challenges (i.e., PCT, Behavior consultation)Stay up-to-date on best practices in applied behavior analysis and related fields
