The Fulton City School District is seeking a special education teacher to work in an elementary classroom beginning next school year. This is a probationary position. As an Elementary Special Education Teacher, you will be the primary advocate and instructional leader for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring every "Dragon" has the support they need to S.O.A.R. Graduate Credit: $150 per credit beyond your initial degree. Experience Credit: $500 per year for prior certified teaching experience. Essential Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for elementary-aged students. Provide specialized instruction in resource rooms, integrated co-teaching (ICT) settings, or self-contained classrooms. Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure student accommodations and modifications are met. Utilize data-driven strategies and assistive technology to foster student independence and academic growth. Qualifications Certification: Must hold valid New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2 or Grades 1-6). Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (and incentivized). Skills: Proficiency in writing IEPs and a deep understanding of CSE (Committee on Special Education) processes.
