Granby Elementary is seeking a dedicated and energetic educator to step into a Third Grade classroom starting April 13th. As our students enter the final stretch of the year, we need a teacher who can maintain a stable, nurturing environment while delivering high-quality instruction during a pivotal academic season. Compensation & Benefits Starting Salary: $63,746 (BA/BS) Master’s Degree Stipend: $2,598 Graduate Credit: Additional $145 per credit towards Master’s degree Experience Credit: $500 per year of certified teaching experience As a Long-Term Substitute, you will fully assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher. Your focus will be on maintaining classroom routines, delivering core curriculum, and supporting students through end-of-year milestones—including New York State assessments and celebrations. Key Responsibilities Instructional Continuity: Implement established lesson plans and adapt instruction in ELA, Math, and Science to ensure students meet end-of-year benchmarks. Testing Support: Provide a calm, supportive environment for students during the spring assessment window. Classroom Management: Uphold the "Red Dragon SOAR" principles (Self-Control, On-Task, Achievement, Respect) to ensure a safe and productive learning space. Collaboration: Partner with the 3rd-grade team and support staff to ensure a smooth transition for the students. Qualifications Certification: Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Childhood Education Grades 1-6) is required. Availability: Must be available for the full duration of the assignment (April 13 through the end of June). Attributes: Adaptability, strong communication skills, and a "team player" attitude.
