There is an opening for a Special Education Consultant Teacher at G. Ray Bodley High School. This is a probationary position.Candidates must possess a valid NYS teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD) 7-12 or equivalent. Candidates with content area certifications, specifically ELA and Social Studies, are encouraged to apply.The job duties of a Special Education Teacher include, but are not limited to:Provide direct instruction to students using a variety of instructional techniquesPlan and deliver lessons at the appropriate grade level based upon district curriculumPlan and incorporate assessments to measure student academic progress and growthMaintain records of student academic progress as well as other records or data required by regulation or district policyIncorporate behavior management systems consistent with building or district procedures or initiativesCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding matters related to student academics, behavior, or any other matters related to a student’s school experienceSupervise students as necessary and as assigned outside of the classroomAdminister policies and procedures that apply to students and the schoolIndividual Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation including test accommodations and program accommodationsCollaborate with content area teachers as necessary as well as other professional staff such as counselors, school-home liaison, and psychologistInclusion teacher will work with the classroom teacher in the design of lessons and implementation of the instructional programSupervise and direct the activities of teaching assistant and teacher aide where applicableParticipate in professional development activities as scheduled by the district and/or building administrationFulton City School District’s vision is to create a learning organization that is the centerpiece of the community, where all are welcomed and held to standards of excellence that foster hope and resilience for the future.
