SCHOOL LUNCH MANAGERThe School Lunch manager is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects for the Food Service and Nutrition programs for the district, which provides daily meals for over 6,800 students within 8 school buildings. Work consists of establishing and carrying out school policies and procedures for effective functioning of the school lunch program. The successful candidate will oversee a team of 8 Head Cooks and approximately 50 Food Service Workers.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIESProvide leadership, direction and supervision for the successful running and operation of the District’s Food Service Department. Establish standards for preparation and presentation of meals in accordance with Dept. of Health regulations ensuring that food is prepared and served in a sanitary, safe environment. Develop and integrate safety procedures in all phases of operations.Establish financial objectives for the Child Nutrition program, use purchasing guidelines and bid standards for cost effectiveness; develop menus that meet all local, state, and federal guidelines.Ensure food production is efficient and effective in production and distribution.Complete required State and Federal reporting requirements.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies as they relate to Child Nutrition program.Ability to operate Nutrikids POS program or similar programs.Interviews and recommends the hiring of school lunch personnel; establish methods for training and evaluating work performance of staff. Establish standards for professional development and implement personnel policies and procedures as they relate to the Child Nutrition program.Performs other duties consistent with this title and additional duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
