Position Summary: The Health Aide provides direct health-related support and supervision to a student during the school day in order to ensure the student’s safety, medical needs, and access to instruction within the educational setting. Responsibilities: Provide health-related support services to assigned students throughout the school day Monitor student’s medical and/or physical needs as directed by the school nurse and/or physician orders Assist student with mobility, daily living activities, and health-related tasks as needed Accompany students throughout the school building and during school-related activities Communicate concerns regarding the student’s health, safety, or well-being to the school nurse and administration Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client Maintain confidentiality of student information Follow district policies, procedures, and safety protocols Assist in emergency situations as directed by school personnel Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior experience working with children preferred Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, related service providers, and families Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow medical directives and maintain professionalism CPR/First Aid certification preferred Reports To: School Nurse and Building Administration $30,000-$40,000 annually
