Candidates should possess a strong math and literacy background and a strong knowledge of elementary learning standards. Candidates should have an appreciation for the specific needs of early literacy learners, and an instructional toolkit that will foster critical thinking, cross-curricular experiences, and opportunities for students to grow their skills and knowledge.
