The Freeport Public School District's World Languages Department has an opening for the 2026-2027 school year for a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Spanish Language Teacher. As a key member of our educational community, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students while fostering a positive, culturally responsive learning environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, prepare and deliver culturally responsive and relevant lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and engagement Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs Communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth Utilize relevant technology and instructional materials to support and differentiate instruction Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleagues Support all students with diverse needs (ENL, IEP, 504, etc.) Encourage family involvement in each student’s education and ensure effective communication with students and families Promote a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming and affirming for all students POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards for World Languages (Modern Languages) Knowledge of the RTI process and ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Frameworks Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes Possession of appropriate New York State Teacher Certification - Spanish 7-12 Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, and staff Understanding of meeting the needs of multicultural students Qualified and interested candidates should respond to www.olasjobs.org/longisland ( http://www.olasjobs.org/longisland ) ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED
