Elementary Instructional Coach - Literacy Focus - K-6, ProbationaryFreeport Public Schools is looking for highly motivated, dedicated and dynamic full-time Instructional Coach.OverviewInstructional Coaches understand and promote the district’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. These teacher-leaders are responsible for coaching and supporting elementary school teachers to enhance their instructional practices in Literacy, Math, and content areas thereby fostering greater student learning outcomes in grades K-6.Responsibilities- Conduct planning conferences to collaboratively design effective instructional plans.- Develop and showcase exemplary lessons aligned with district standards.- Facilitate professional development workshops to enhance teacher pedagogy.- Research and demonstrate innovative instructional strategies.- Encourage participation and foster open discussion among staff.-Facilitate and support development, group discussion, and feedback sessions.-Maintain active communication with administrators to ensure alignment with goals.-Analyze data to monitor progress toward district objectives.Qualifications-New York State Elementary certified, literacy certification preferred-Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Next Generation Learning standards.-Possesses a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting.-Requires a deep understanding of educational frameworks such as Fountas and Pinnell Guided Reading, Benchmark Assessment System, Continuum of Literacy Learning, Leveled Literacy Intervention, Fundations, and the Writing Units of Study.-Thorough understanding of responsive teaching methods and learning progressions.-Experience in curriculum development and pacing.-Proficient in delivering professional development workshops to adults.-Ability to utilize data-driven instruction practices.-Experience supporting multilingual curricula.-Skilled in working with English as a New Language (ENL) and Special Education students and staff.-Proficiency in integrating technology to enhance instruction.-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
