Farmingdale High School is seeking a collaborative and student-centered High School English Teacher to join a strong English Language Arts department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction aligned with the New York State Next Generation ELA Learning Standards, developing students’ skills in reading, writing, discussion, research, and critical thinking while using assessment to inform instruction and support diverse learners. The English department operates within a structured Professional Learning Community (PLC) model. Teachers collaborate regularly with colleagues and curriculum leaders to analyze student work, share instructional strategies, and ensure a consistent, high-quality grade-level experience for all students. The successful candidate will foster a classroom environment that values inquiry, discussion, and evidence-based thinking. Preferred: Experience with or interest in teaching AP Capstone Seminar.Required: Valid New York State certification in English Language Arts (7–12). Please address all cover letters to Michael J.
