FRANKLIN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT DLI (Delaware Literary Institute) was founded in 1835 as a private school located on the school's present site. In 1930, DLI became a central school district known as Delaware Literary Institute and Franklin Central School. In 1983, Franklin was placed on the register of National Historic Places. The Franklin Central School District has a proud history of providing a quality education in an environment of respect, collaboration, community involvement, and academic challenge. The district currently serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The School Business Manager is a leadership position responsible for the financial and operational management of the District. This role ensures that all fiscal, business, and support functions operate efficiently, comply with State and Federal requirements, and align with the District’s mission. The Business Manager works closely with the Superintendent and administrative team to provide strategic financial guidance, long-term planning, and operational oversight. DCMO BOCES supports aspects of the business office. Salary and Benefits: This is a non-represented/confidential position. A regionally competitive salary and benefit package will be offered based upon qualifications and experience. Preferred Qualifications : Successful experience in school district finance, business operations, knowledge of and experience in budgeting and personnel supervision. Required Qualifications: Certification via NYS Education Department: Candidates must hold NYS certification as a School Business Official (SDBL, SDA, SBA/SBO) at the time of appointment or be eligible for initial certification at time of application. Certification via New York State Civil Service: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. (1) Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public or Business Administration, or related field and (2) one year of experience in public or business administration, office management, accounting, or auditing; OR B. (1) Graduation from a college or university with an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Public or Business Administration, or related field, and (3) three years of experience specified in (A) above; OR C. (1) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and (5) five years of responsible clerical experience, which shall have included two years of supervisory experience and two years of account keeping responsibilities; OR D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above. NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
