The Floral Park-Bellerose Elementary School District has an opening for a highly-qualified Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. This is a 12-month position that reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of Pre-K - 6 curriculum and instruction, be well-versed in special education programs and regulations, have a vision for technology integration, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have past experience as a school district or school building administrator. School District Administrator or School District Leader certification is required. Directs, evaluates, and coordinates the district’s instructional plan of approximately 1600 Pre-K through 6th grade students.Oversees student services including the special education department and coordinates instruction with the technology department.Supervises and provides leadership to all building administrators.Plans and arranges staff professional development in alignment with the district’s goals.Coordinates and provides support to Human Resources and the Assistant Superintendent for Business as needed.Leads, encourages, and supports the development and innovation of teaching and learning.Is knowledgeable in evidence-based strategies and programs at the elementary level.
