Position Summary:The Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District seeks a highly qualified and dedicated School District Treasurer to oversee and manage all financial operations of the district. This critical role ensures the fiscal integrity of the district and supports its mission to provide excellent educational opportunities for all students.Responsibilities:Custodian of Funds: Receive, deposit, and disburse all district funds; oversee check signing, bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and preparation of Treasurer’s Reports.Financial Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive financial and statistical records for federal, state, and local authorities, the Superintendent, and the Board of Education. Prepare final spending reports for grants and capital projects; manage billing for health services, related services, and Medicaid cost reports.Budgetary Oversight: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual district budget, including budget transfers and reporting budget-to-actual spending to the New York State Education Department (ST-3).Business Management Functions: Oversee district business office operations, including payroll, human resources accounting, disbursements, debt schedules, and adherence to accounting standards and procedures.Audit Coordination: Collaborate with the Internal Claims Auditor as well as internal, external, and state auditors to ensure compliance and accountability.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field requiredPrior experience in a school district or public sector financial management role is highly desirable.Knowledge of New York State education finance regulations, reporting requirements, and accounting practices.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to work collaboratively with district administrators, staff, and external stakeholders.Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.How to apply:Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and résumé to Lisa Ruiz, Interim Superintendent, at lruiz@fpbsd.org or apply through OLASjobs.org.Join our dedicated team and help ensure the financial health and success of the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District!
