The Floral Park-Bellerose Elementary School District has openings for AIS Math Specialist teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. Selection Criteria: MA degree in Education and/or MathematicsNYS Certification in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) Math Certification a plusHas experience with teaching a variety of Mathematics approaches, strategies and curriculum materials including Intervention programs and methodsIs skilled and has experience in assessing students in MathematicsA minimum of five years teaching, in an elementary school or middle school settingA teaching philosophy that focuses on growth in academic, social and emotional domainsA collaborative, teamwork-oriented approachThorough knowledge of New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning StandardsExcellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency in the use of Google Classroom Tools: Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets General Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlanning standards-based lessons that lead to increased student achievementAbility to assess and deliver differentiated instruction based on student dataAssist students to develop social and emotional competencies to be successfulCommunicate with parents regarding progress and supports, as well as any district workshops and Board of Education meetings as neededCollaborate with district colleagues based on identified needs of students to ensure students make academic progressProvide targeted research-based intervention and support programs to students based on need inside/outside of the classroom in small groups.Participate in MTSS or CSE meetings to share student data, progress, and performance outcomesAnalyze district assessment data to determine targeted needs of students.APPLICATION: Submit a cover letter and resume indicating your interest and qualifications on OLAS by April 28, 2023.
