The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District has an opening for a 5-12 Assistant Principal with a projected start date of July 1, 2023. The district is seeking a highly talented, dynamic individual with a strong work ethic and leadership skills. General responsibilities of the position include assisting the Middle and High School Principals in leadership, coordination, supervision and management of students, programs and operations. The 5-12 Assistant Principal, under the direction of the building Principals, implements and enforces school board policies, administrative rules, and regulations. In the absence of a building Principal, the 5-12 Assistant Principal shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the building Principal. Performance Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following: Assist in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the philosophy, policies, and goals of the School Board. Meet and confer with students, parents, faculty and staff. Assist the Principals in the overall administration of the school. Interpret and enforce school district policies and regulations. Assist the Principals in planning and implementing a professional development/growth program for teachers and staff. Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities. Assist with the development of master schedules including but not limited to scheduling courses, students, and teachers. Co-facilitate safety drills and emergency activities. Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body; oversee and implement progressive discipline structure defined with the code of conduct. Maintain a variety of files; prepare periodic and special reports as required. Supervise teachers, departments, and activities as assigned by the Principals. Summer Program CoordinatorValid NYS School Building Leader or School Administrator/Supervisor Certification required. The District will offer a salary commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate.
