AIS Reading TeacherNYS Certification in Reading/Literacy required. Experience in Middle Level education; pedagogy of early adolescence, instructional strategies, and individualization of instruction preferred.Full Time, Tenure TrackSalary per Contract, Minimum Starting Salary: $48,479.Start Date: September 2025Job Description: Work collaboratively with all classroom teachers and other reading staff to meet the individual reading needs of students. Evaluate student progress from multiple data sources on a regular basis and document results. Administer benchmark and progress monitoring screening and diagnostic assessments to students (screening tools used - DIBELS Next, STAR, and other formative assessments). Prepare daily lesson plans and instruct AIS intervention groups for struggling readers. Prepare materials and data for CSE / IST meetings when required. Attend all faculty meetings, department meetings, and parent-teacher conferences Actively participate in data review meetings throughout the year at specified grade levels. Organize appropriate materials in order to meet the needs of the students in each AIS group. Develop a reading schedule within the parameters of the master schedule. Maintain AIS folder and all required contents, write up quarterly progress notes for all AIS students on your caseload, and communicate your findings to parents as needed.
